1 to 1 Device Responsible Use and Internal Insurance Agreement
The Boise School District believes that the district�s technology focus should support student achievement through innovative, mobile, flexible, and responsive devices that prepare tech savvy and tech literate students for their future.  The district provides students with a general use device to support learning opportunities at school and at home when necessary.
Initially, devices at elementary schools and Frank Church High School will be assigned to students, but will remain at school for care and charging each night. Opportunities to check out for overnight use will be provided as needed and determined at the school level. 
Devices at the secondary level will be considered take home and should be charged at home each night. Devices will be checked out to students throughout their junior high and high school years and will be returned to the Boise School District at the end of 9th grade and upon graduation from high school. 
ACCEPTABLE AGREEMENT
As a student of the Boise School District and the parent/guardian of such a student, we assume responsibility for loss, damage, or theft of assigned technology. Whether used at school or off school premises, we recognize that the device is school property and will not intentionally maltreat the equipment or act with gross negligence. 
�I accept responsibility for the appropriate use of the District equipment entrusted to me and promise to return the equipment when requested.�
�I acknowledge that abuse, misuse, or malicious behavior may result in a discussion related to repair or replacement of damaged equipment entrusted to me and payment to the district or school for such repair or replacement.�
�I understand the Boise School District offers an �Internal Insurance Coverage.� The cost of the Boise School District internal insurance is $25 for 1 year of coverage and can be renewed each year. This $25 cost covers 1 claim per year for accidental damage, loss, or theft. Subsequent claims may be filed with school administration and will incur a $20 deductible. Negligence or purposeful damage, loss of charger, and Incidental damage to someone else�s device are NOT covered by this insurance. When necessary, a second device can be checked out while repairs are being completed.
